Pierced Fix

Pierced Fix Profiles

We manufacture popular pierced fix profiles, including IBR and Corrugated.

Our manufacturing division roll-forms the following pierced-fix profiles: IBR, Corrugated and Widek

These profiles are available in Clean COLORBOND, Clean COLORBOND ULTRA, Zincalume, Zincal, ColorPlus and ColorPlus Ultima.

IBR

IBR 686 (Inverted Box Rib) has an effective cover width of 686mm, after side-lap. It is an angular, trapezoidal fluted sheet designed to be used as a roof covering and side-wall cladding.

IBR Profile

The bold profile of IBR makes it aesthetically attractive and practical for use as roof covering and wall cladding. Its deep, broad flutes ensure excellent draining characteristics, making it the ideal profile for roofs with lower pitches.

IBR offers optimal strength to weight and its design offers the optimum load/span capabilities. It can be factory-cranked to a narrow or broad flute (reverse crank), as well as bullnosed to a wide range of radii to suit a your specifications (minimum radius: 450mm).

Using our own factory vehicles, we are able to supply and deliver IBR sheets from up to 15.00m in length. Delivery of longer sheets, up to a maximum length of 20.00m, can be arranged by special request at an additional cost.

The minimum recommended roof pitch for IBR is 5 degrees, provided the roof slope is less than 15m. For longer sheets a minimum pitch of 7.5 degrees is recommended.

A length variation of +/-5.0mm, and a width tolerance of +/-3.0mm is permissible.
To calculate the number of IBR sheets required, divide the roof width (metres) by 0.686 and round off to the next full number.

Example: Roof width = 6.00m and run-off = 6.30m: 6 + 0.686 = 8.746.

This means 9 sheets of length 6.30m are required.

Corrugated

Corrugated sheeting has become increasingly popular with architects and designers for interior designs in modern buildings. It can also be used for roofing, walling and ceilings with exceptional effect.

Corrugated Profile

Corrugated sheeting (Victorian Profile or S-Rib) is a sinusoidal profile sheet, which can be used for both roofing and side-cladding. This is mostly owing to its relative strength, ease of handling and fixing, and cost effectiveness.

Corrugated sheeting has a cover width, after side-lapping of 762mm.

We are able to supply and deliver corrugated sheets up to 15m in length. Delivery of longer sheets, up to a maximum length of 22m, can be arranged at an additional cost.

Corrugated sheeting is not recommended for roof pitches less than 15 degrees and rather lends itself to steeper pitches (25-45 degrees)

We would always recommend a single side-lap and the use of a sealing tape along the side-lap if the pitch is at a minimum.

A length variation of +/-5.0mm, and a width tolerance of +/-3.0mm is permissible.
To calculate the number of corrugated sheets required, divide the roof width (metres) by 0.762 and round off to the next full number.

Example: Roof width = 6.00m and run-off = 6.30m: 6 + 0.762 = 7.87.

This means 8 sheets of length 6.30m are required.

Widek

Widek is a square fluted profile similar to IBR. However, Widek has a lower rib, which means it provides a greater cover width than IBR. This results in an effective 10% saving in material costs over IBR. Widek offers the same cover width as corrugated sheeting (762mm), but can be used at a lower pitch.

Widek Profile

Due to the cost benefit of Widek, it is the preferred profile for side-cladding. Thanks to the greater cover-width, fewer sheets are needed.

Compared to corrugated sheeting, Widek is a stronger profile and has a greater water run-off capacity.

We are able to deliver Widek sheets of up to 15 metres in length. Delivery of sheets up to a maximum length of 22 metres can be arranged, by special request, at an additional cost.

The recommended minimum pitch is 7.5 degrees, provided the roof slope is less than 15 metres

A length tolerance of +- 5 mm and a width tolerance of +- 3 mm is permissible.
